15th May 2012 - Development Blog #4 - let there be... umm, gravity?
I'm back with an update with my game, to tell youse how I'm doing.
I've now created a working and somewhat robust game engine, I've done running, jumping and the level scrolling, which is a lot harder than you think to do that, I won't explain because chances are you'd have no idea what I'm talking about, but I have the whole platforming thing covered, and I'm close to completing crouching. After that, I'm moving on to the combat.
I've also made a new page on the website, I've added a characters page, head over to the website to check it out.
That's all I've been doing, but the former of the two is very time consuming, so I couldn't do much else, oh well, see youse in the next blog...

25th April 2012 - Development Blog #2 - Development had officially begun!
I appoligise for the massive space in time between the 2 blogs, but whatha gonna do?
I haven't done much right now, just made Keno move left and right, and do a stance when nothing is pressed, he doesn't even do an animation while moving, yet. but hey, at for a nights works, it's not bad.
I've also finished all of the player models and have finished a gun model, I have just enough now to make the basic game itself, which is what I'll do.
The game will use the 3D models created to do the sprites, because hand or pixel drawing them would be too hard and too time consuming, making animations using 3D models is far easier and quicker, besides, usually pre-rendered sprites generally look better anyway, take rise of the robots and donkey kong country for exammple, both games used pre-rendered graphics, and both were considered the best looking games of the 4th generation.
I've created a spritesheet already already consisting of two animations, stance and running, the stance animation is covered, I'm having a bit of trouble doing the running animation, but I should soon iron that out!
Hope to updated my progress further next week (or next month, knowing my laziness) so see youse then...
21st February 2012 - Development Blog #1 - Entering the 3rd dimension...
Hello, this is my first Development blog!
Every Monday/Tuesday, I will be summarising my progress with the upcoming Keno the Cat game, everything, from any last remaing concept arts/ideas, to the finishing touches, release and advertising. It will be a long and exiting journey, at least for me, that will probably last the entire year, so buckle up, and read some boring stuff about my game.
Recently, I've started working on the 3D models using Blender, which is a free open source 3D modeling program, and in the space of only 2 days, surprisingly, I've completed the model itself and texturing, well, for the most part, and now I'll be moving on to the rigging. (animation)
...That's relly all I've been doing inn terms of the game development, well this turned out be a short Blog, but hey, better than nothing, right?
Alright, I'll give youse a preview of the model, here you go:
Okay, that's all I have, see youse next week, where hopefully, I'll have more to say.

Release of Keno the cat chronicles Issue 2 - Page 7
Here's Page 7 of my comic out, and it will be my last for a while.
If you missed my last post, I've had a change of plan, I originally intended to finish all the comics before working on the game, however, I didn't know it would take me so long to do them, so I've decided to stop doing the comics, and go straight to developing the game, and then finish off the comics once I'm done, to make up for this delay, I will be doing a third issue, which will cover the first scene of the game.
I'm looking for someone to do the sprites and 3D models for the game, because knowing my lack of skills in the graphics department of development, it would take me half the year to do those alone, so if someone is willing to do those, it would be much appreciated, however, no one has to, I could do them myself, but again, it would take me ages to do them.
I'm hoping to get the game out by late 2012, or at the latest, early 2013, so I'm going to have to actually top laying around, being a lazy sh*te, and actually get to work.
Here's the comic:

30th January 2012 - A slight change of plan...
A post on the Keno the Cat website that's not about a new Keno the Cat comic page!? That's unheard of!
My original plan for my new Keno the Cat project is to do a mini comic series before I start development on the game itself, sure, this might've been a stupid idea, as the comic were only a side project to help "Hype" up the game and wasn't necessary, but I thought since it was a mini series, it would do me a couple of months at the very most.
However, as we've discovered, it's taken me far longer than that, almost a year! So I've decided to just start develop on the game, and do the comics after, because the game itself is more important, right?
I won't leave the site deserted to collect dust, no, if you've been reading my Retro Blog (and if you've never heard of it; Here's a link.) you would know that every Sunday, I write a feature that's about my retro gaming activity that week.
Well, I'm thinking of doing something similar here but on a different week, probably a Monday, as I'm off then, that will be about my games development activity, not sure what to call it, but that's not important, at least with this, I can make sure to progress in some form or another in development so I can have something to write about.
I will be releasing one more comic page before this plan goes into action, and that comic is nearly done, and should be uploaded sometime this week, the rest of the comic will be finished after the game itself, to make up for thus, I will be doing a 3rd issue when the game is finished, which will be the beginning of the game's first scene.
Hopefully by doing this, I will be able to finish this game by the end of this year. (Touchwood.)

22nd January 2012 - Keno the Cat Chronicles - Issue 2- Page 6 is out
First of all, Happy Late New Year to you all!
I'm not holding back, I'll admit, the reason this took so long is because I've been lazy, I haven't been working on them much at all, don't worry, I think I'm back on top form, if that's the case, page 7 should be out sometime next week.
However, I can say that now my comics will be of a more consistent size and thanks to my new scanner, I can get these comics out quicker, so hopefully, I should have finished it all by the end of next month, fingers crossed...
Anyway, here's the comic:

Page 7 should be out sometime next week, although knowing me, I'll probably be way off.

8th December 2011 - Early Christmas 'present' for you all: The Keno the Cat Christmas Special 2011 Comic!
Before I go on, I have to point out that this is only a parody, and is in no way intended to be used commercially, the Dell logo is (obviously) a copyright to Dell, and was used without permission. This was not made to hinder anyone's opinions on Dell laptops, it was not made to tell people to avoid getting dells.
It's not like Dell will ever be looking at this, but you know what they say; "Better safe than sorry".
Lucky (or not) for you guys, we've decided to release the Christmas special Keno the Cat Comic early:
See the full image plus catch up on the comic by clicking on the "Story" button above and then scroll down to the comics section.
I've had this idea for a Christmas comic since last Christmas, the reason I'm only now doing it this year was because back then, I knew nothing about manga drawing, I was waiting for my "How to draw manga" books to arrive, but they didn't arrive until the start of the following year.
I've become obsessed with Luca Kitesun, and he's not even the main character of the story, don't worry this will probably be the last comic special featuring him, at least for a while.
Right now that that's out of the way, time to go back to Keno the Cat Chronicles...

5th December 2011 - The Keno the Cat Chronicles Issue 2 Front Cover has finally been made!,/h2>
After 4 pages into the comic, I've finally gotten around to making the front cover!
I apologise for taking so long, it'll probably be a let down, especially due to the lack of shadows, but then again, you guys probably just don't care, it's just a front cover after all.
Either way, here it is, in all of it's disappointing glory:

Next up, the Christmas special!

2nd December 2011 - Keno the Cat Chronicles - Issue 2 - Page 4 is out!
I just can't meet a deadline to save my life, can I?
A day after it was meant to come out, page 4 of the comic is out.
Why did it take so long? Well, an interesting answer, really. Yesterday, we were putting up the Christmas tree, and today, I was actually going to a primary school reunion, which I totally forgot about. I met friends I haven't seen, or talked to, in years, it was great, they changed so much, then again, so have I, I guess. This time, I made sure to get all of my friends' email addresses, just so I can keep in contact with them.
Anyway, after those, I finished off the comic and here we are.
See the full image plus catch up on the comic by clicking on the "Story" button above and then scroll down to the comics section.
Now that that's done, I'm going to start on it's front cover, because frankly, it's been updated for too long without one, problem is, what can I draw?
After I do that, I'll start on the Christmas special of it, and I know Exactly what I can do for that...

30th November 2011 - Keno the Cat Chronicles - Issue 2 - Page 3 is out!
I'm sorry for the delay, personal reasons as to why it took so long, but the point is I'm back and I would say I'm better than ever, but that's not entirely the case.
Anyway, there's not much else to say, the 3rd page is at long last released, and here it is:
See the full image plus catch up on the comic by clicking on the "Story" button above and then scroll down to the comics section.
Also, I'm not slowing down, again, personal reasons for the delay, but I'm back on normal schedule, the 4th page is nearly done, and shall be upload tomorrow, or should I say next month!

16th November 2011 - Keno the Cat Chronicles Issue 2 Page 2 is out!
After just 2 days after starting on it, I've already finished Page 2 of the comic! What a record!
Don't worry, though, I didn't rush it, I just put more time into it, because most of the time I worked on previous pages, I was just lounging about, so if I wanted to get the comics over with and start on the game itself any time soon, I had to stop lounging about and actually get on with them.
So that's exactly what I did, and the end result, with the same effort put in as the other page, just more time spent doing do, was alot quicker than I expected, only 2 days.
Here's the comic itself:
See the full image plus catch up on the comic by clicking on the "Story" button above.
Assuming that the comic will be 10 pages long, because the story is much longer, then I can get the comic done before Christmas! and that includes the Christmas special comic, so by next year, it's all going towards the game, and hopefully, I can get that done by late 2012, which is when I want to release the game.
Yeah, it's very much possible, I think! So, hopefully, it goes according to plan, and the the game should be on Xbox Live and Steam by Q4 2012!
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be starting the next page of the comic...

12th November 2011 - Keno the Cat Chronicles Issue 2 Page 1 is finally out!
Finally, after so long, the first page of the second issue of the Keno the Cat Chronicles web comic series has finally been uploaded!
It took me ages to do this, but hopefully, it's paid off, so, without further adeu, prepare to be disappointed, here is Keno the Cat Chronicles - Issue 2 - Page 1:

5th November 2011 - Happy Guy Fawkes Night!... Does anyone even say that?
31st October 2011 - The Keno the Cat Halloween Special comic has been released.
25th October 2011 - A (very) rough release 'date' for Keno the cat has been confirmed
We (well, I) have worked out an very rough release date for the Keno the cat game.
The gem should be released at Q4 2012, or Early 2013, before the new Xbox has been announced at E3 2013.
The reason I'm releasing it then is because for one thing only 1 guy is making it, yours truly, and I'm making this my big project, so I need time to make it the best I can, It's not like Rossies 2, where the game is extremely simple, I want to add depth to this game, and alot of it, I want an epic storyline, great looking cutscenes (PC version will also have the option of Low-Poly Models), and variety to the game, not just the same stuff over and over and over again.
Even so, it still seams a bit much, but I'm slow and lazy, so I'll need all the time I can get.
In the mean time, like I did with Rossies 2, I'll be making the occasional Developer Blog entry, to tell youse how I'm doing, if your at all interested.

1st October 2011 - The Keno the Cat official website is now officially open, plus a few more stuff.
It's been almost 2 months since our last post, sorry if youse thought we were dead, because we aren't!
In those 2 months though, I managed to finish off Issue 1 of the Keno the cat Chronicles comic, if youse want to read it, go visit the official Keno the cat website.
...Unfortunately, there were problems with the site when we first launched it, depending on your browser, on Firefox, the home page didn't appear and there's no background on the page itself, and on Internet Explorer and AOL, the page lists at the comic pages, the thumbnails weren't showing and for some reason, the table cells had widened quite a bit, you'd need to scroll to get to the page you want.
Don't worry, because as you can tell, all of these problems have been fixed!
We never intended either to happen, and they certainly didn't in the testing phase, so right now, I have no idea why it's doing them, but I'm currently working on it, and doing everything I can to fix it.
Oh yeah! Speaking of, the official Keno the cat website is now up! To make things better, I've actually revealed a bit of the story on the site, so if youse want to check that out, go there now!
Oh and one last thing, Keno now gets his own category in the main news page! ...Alright, it isn't that exiting, but for the sake of completion, it's here.

16th July 2011 - Keno the Cat has finally started development... Well, sort of
We are pleased to inform you all that Keno the Cat has officially started development... Sort of!
It isn't in full production yet, the build-up comics are still the main focus, until the 2nd Issue is finished.
More info on the comics, they will be 3 issues of the comic which are about event which build up to the game's plot, the first 2 will actually take place 10 years before the game's story, and the 3rd issue will take place RIGHT BEFORE the first cutscene, as in how the characters got to where they are at the start of the game, and it will include part of the first scene, just so reader will get idea of what the cutscenes will be like story-wise. Once I finish Issue 2, I will go into full production of the game and work on the 3rd issue at the same time. I have really come prepared, haven't I?
-Cobra!
2nd July 2011 - Rossies 2 Development will be put on hold
As the title pretty much says, the development of Rossies 2 will be on hold. Why? You may ask, well, I've been far behind schedule, and I've lost passion for the game, and have been very eager to start this new big project I've had in mind for years
If I wanted to get on to do this project by this year, I would have to either rush the game to get it released by the end on June, (which I know you guys don't want, we here at Gamerstorm want to make quality games, because we aren't here for the money, but rather to entertain those who have been bored by todays game and just want something with nice, fast, classic-esque gameplay) Cancel the game altogether, (which again, you guys probably don't want, and neither do I) or just temporarily cancel it the production of the game and move on to this big project, then go back to Rossies 2 once this game is finished.
As you might've guessed, I had chosen the 3rd option, because I know that I'm going to go back into it eventually, but by doing this makes Rossies 2 technically Vaporware, like Duke Nukem Forever was, but hopefully it shouldn't take as long, because it's just a simple little game after all.
I will be uploading comics about the story on DeviantART, although I won't reveal the games story, I will make comics on what happens before it, the build up, just so you guys aren't completely in the dark once the game comes out
So yeah, you can tell that I have very high hopes for the game, and somewhere along the line I will be disappointed at something for some reason, but this is my big break, this will be my epic project, like Yu Suzuki's Shenmue, only not as epic, but you get the idea. So if all goes well, this will be one hell of a game!
