Because we have nothing else to do, we at Gamerstorm would like to celebrate Guy Fawkes night, with a promotional(ish) poster, well, we're going to turn it into one, think of this as a first draft enjoy:
For those outside the UK who don't know what Guy Fawkes night is, well, it's kind of like our version of 4th July, except it's celebrating a bad thing, sort of, it's celebrating an attempt, by a guy called "Guy Fawkes" (Who'd thought?) trying to blow up the houses of parliament in 1905.
I hope youse like this, and Happy Guy Fawkes Night!... Does anyone even say that?
I've just noticed, I've been posting news like crazy lately, when previously, I only had 1 post every 2 months.
Anyway, I've been working on a Halloween special comic for Keno the Cat, the problem was, what should I draw, here's some trivia, I was originally going to do a continuation of the Red Nose Day 2011 special, it would've taken place after Luca had landed, but that would require too many panels for what I had planned for the story and my drawing skills are below average, so it wouldn't turn out good.
So instead, I decided to do something rather simple, but with a twist, unlike any other Halloween special of anything, it's not scary, but it has alot to do with Halloween, how is this possible, well, read for yourself:
We (well, I) have worked out an very rough release date for the Keno the cat game.
The game should be released at Q4 2012, or Early 2013, before the new Xbox has been announced at E3 2013.
The reason I'm releasing it then is because for one thing only 1 guy is making it, yours truly, and I'm making this my big project, so I need time to make it the best I can, It's not like Rossies 2, where the game is extremely simple, I want to add depth to this game, and alot of it, I want an epic storyline, great looking cutscenes (PC version will also have the option of Low-Poly Models), and variety to the game, not just the same stuff over and over and over again.
Even so, it still seams a bit much, but I'm slow and lazy, so I'll need all the time I can get.
In the mean time, like I did with Rossies 2, I'll be making the occasional Developer Blog entry, to tell youse how I'm doing, if your at all interested.
It's been almost 2 months since our last post, sorry if youse thought we were dead, because we aren't!
In those 2 months though, I managed to finish off Issue 1 of the Keno the cat Chronicles comic, if youse want to read it, go visit the official Keno the cat website.
Oh yeah! Speaking of, the official Keno the cat website is now up! To make things better, I've actually revealed a bit of the story on the site, so if youse want to check that out, go there now!
Oh and one last thing, notice anything different about this post than any other post? Well, of course you did! Keno now gets his own category in the news page! ...Alright, it isn't that exiting, but for the sake of completion, it's here.
Alright, you're probably wondering why we weren't active for a month, well, the reason is... we haven't done anything significant, nothing worth posting, and honestly, there's nothing else to it, that was really because half of the month, I was still waiting for the desk to be built, and trust me, that was a lot of hassle, and you know how you'd be on a break/holiday, you know how hard it is to get back to your usual progress if you know what I mean? Yeah, I felt like that, so I really didn't do much at all, sorry guys, I promise I'll work much harder next time, if I don't, fell free to send me death threats.
As the title pretty much says, the development of Rossies 2 will be on hold. Why? You may ask, well, I've been far behind schedule, and I've lost passion for the game, and have been very eager to start this new big project I've had in mind for years
If I wanted to get on to do this project by this year, I would have to either rush the game to get it released by the end on June, (which I know you guys don't want, we here at Gamerstorm want to make quality games, because we aren't here for the money, but rather to entertain those who have been bored by todays game and just want something with nice, fast, classic-esque gameplay) Cancel the game altogether, (which again, you guys probably don't want, and neither do I) or just temporarily cancel it the production of the game and move on to this big project, then go back to Rossies 2 once this game is finished.
As you might've guessed, I had chosen the 3rd option, because I know that I'm going to go back into it eventually, but by doing this makes Rossies 2 technically Vaporware, like Duke Nukem Forever was, but hopefully it shouldn't take as long, because it's just a simple little game after all.
I will be uploading comics about the story on DeviantART, although I won't reveal the games story, I will make comics on what happens before it, the build up, just so you guys aren't completely in the dark once the game comes out
So yeah, you can tell that I have very high hopes for the game, and somewhere along the line I will be disappointed at something for some reason, but this is my big break, this will be my epic project, like Yu Suzuki's Shenmue, only not as epic, but you get the idea. So if all goes well, this will be one hell of a game!
After a month of trying to publish it, the Rossies 2 demo is out now and available for download!
I finally fixed the problem I was having.
By this point, most of yous are starting to think I'm bluffing about all this and that I'm not actually making a game, but this demo should hopefully prove that I HAVE done something. Ok, sure, it took a hell of a long time, and it may not be worth it in the end, but at least it'll prove that I've been working on something, and that I'm not just sitting on my A*se all day playing video games.
Please keep in mind however, this demo is to showcase the gameplay and how much faster it is, the graphics haven't changed much, only the shotgun, and the Kruncranite quotes arn't there either, I'm going to release another demo with the improved graphics closer to the full game's release.
Enjoy playing out long awaited demo... At least try, please?
Since we're way behind schedule on Rossies 2, over a month behind it's initial release, I fell I have to make changes to plans for the game to speed up production.
First off, I am not going to do FMVs in the game, for several reasons:
My mouse broke, and the program I'm using (Blender) requires a mouse that has a scroll wheel, and it is unknown as of yet when it will be replaced.
I have yet to master the program itself, so that would take a while.
So we can't afford to wait for all those problems to be fixed, so we're going to leave it, instead, we're just going to have pictures with text, like the original. Whether or not a patch will be released with FMVs will be released after the game is another story, but we can't do it now.
The person that was going to do the sprites and designs for the game is a little busy at the moment, he's forming a band with a few friends in school, and at this moment, we can't afford to wait for him, so I decided to do the sprites, designs, the story etc. myself.
And I promise that I will work harder and longer on the game, because I seriously got to get my act together.
With all this out of the way, hopefully, we will at least see a game demo by the end of the month.
It doesn't please me in the slightest to announce that Rossies Classic, the supposed tie-in release with Rossies 2, has been cancelled, there are various reasons why I decided to do this
The project never really took off, I was too busy working on Rossies 2 that I forgot about Rossies Classic.
The project's current state is buggy and glitchy beyond fixing, I'm getting countless bugs when I'm debugging the game, The funny thing about this is, is that it's using pretty much the exact same code as Rossies 2, I even Copy and pasted it to make sure to make sure I'm not missing anything out, and it came up with the same errors.
Speaking of, the gameplay was far to similar to Rossies 2, in fact, it was the exact same game, except with much less stuff, I couldn't release it and make people pay for it, people would think of us as nothing but cheapskates who would do anything to get money.
I'm already behind schedule with the release of Rossies 2, and working on Rossies Classic as well as Rossies 2 won't exactly speed up progress.
However to make up for this, I will put ll the content and options, etc. In Rossies 2, and they'll be accessible once you complete the game. The Rossies Classic site will also stay up, just to give newcomers a general idea of what it was going to be.
So yeah, sorry about this. Ah well, I don't even think you guys were even aware of Rossies Classic, let alone fell upset that it's cancelled.
Due to the pace of fellow people working on this game, the game has been delayed, it's not because I'm lazy, the gameplay, the section I'm doing, is pretty much done, with a few final touches to do, the bare gameplay is done, but I'm waiting on my friend to do sprites, concept arts, storylines etc.
I can't confirm the new release date for the game as of yet, as the game pretty much relies on my friend to do that stuff, I'm not calling him lazy or anything, he's just taking his time, and that will get the best out of him, and I don't blame him for it.
So yeah, I'm sorry to post bad news, but I had to, to stops yous all from wondering why the game isn't here yet.
As you may have noticed from playing the origonal Rossies game, that Emporer yunki was basically
a picture of the Emporer from Star Wars, only shorter, so, obviously, I
can't use it for Rossies 2, as it's copyrighted, so I was talking to
the guy who designed the original character to do a redesign, and he
said he would draw some ideas, so soon, he'll be done with them, and
Emproer Yunki will have a total makover, but, I'm not going to reveal it
untill the games are released, I want to keep it a surprise.
